Another great sunny day....wow are we lucky. A long walk and ended in a very little town called Ribadiso......only one Albergue and we got here early enough to get a couple of beds. We saw Vegas again as well as our Italian Ladies we all walked for a while together and then slowly Vegas took on a faster pace and the ladies a slower pace...but it was good to see them. We also met up with an older man who we have seen 3 days in a row and asked him to join us for lunch but he was in a hurry. Today we went through a lot of farms again and we went through a lot of small towns today and about 6 different rivers.....really nice but we learned while the beautiful rivers are nice .....we found out that everytime you come to a river you have walk down hill and then after the river you have to walk back uphill....I think it’s funny I felt bad thinking “enough with the rivers and all the hills” and the Albergue we stopped at we met two women staying there and we said hi and the first thing they said to us......enough with the rivers....LOL.....I don't feel as guilty.
We have gone through a lot of towns over the last four weeks and the one thing we notice is the supermarkets are about the size of a normal 7-11 and about every 4 blocks or so there is a bread store, meat store, and cheese store. It seems people go down and buy what they need for the day or two days and each store is different. The way one person bakes their bread or cures the ham, or cheese is different than the other. Interesting they are all different and people go buy what they want today, yet in america we try to commoditize everything....copy the next person. If you want to survive you have to be different.....be different , sound different, act different.
Lesson Learned
Whatever your competition is doing do something different.
P.S. not sure if I'm walking tomorrow...blew out my knee today.
