Have you ever been talking to someone and they seemed more interested in what was going on in their world as opposed to what was going on in yours? How did that make you feel? Probably not good, right?

The real problem is that they did not have empathy, and when it comes to sales, empathy is very important. The more you can be empathetic towards a client, the better off you’ll be. You should always seek to understand them so that you can:

  • Build rapport faster
  • Better understand their issues
  • Determine if you and your company can be a solution

So the next time you’re sitting across from a prospect or client, try to see things from their perspective. You’ll be glad you did.
