Started out today early and we needed all the gear we had to stay warm. Going up the mountain and down today, we knew it was going to take all day and we needed the sunlight coming down; as going downhill is the most dangerous part, where legs and ankles get broken by going too fast. It was cloudy and overcast so I know the pictures might be too dark....but it was beautiful. There were several ghost towns along the way.... that were left by the Knights Templar who used to watch this route and protect anyone walking seeking forgiveness for their sins. There were still maybe one or two people living in these towns ...perhaps a little crazy, they would come out as we pass ringing a bell and wanting us to buy something and we did. We had coffee with one and bought a banana from another.

You know when you are walking for 8 hours straight there is a lot of self-talk that goes on. Did you ever notice how negative most of it is? Would you pay a coach to talk to you that way or would you fire him? I know I wouldn’t have made it half way up this mountain today if I let my self-talk stay negative....as it started out today.....”it’s too cold .....wait till tomorrow....why are you doing this.....”

Lesson learned:

Listen to what you say to yourself and if it isn’t good....stop it and start talking positive. The real key is to start listening to what you are saying and pay attention to it.

Pictures are of the landscape and Jim and I but you will see a picture of me on a mound of rocks and a cross at the top of this mountain. You are supposed to bring a rock from home and leave it and St. James will bless it. I brought a rock from my house in Corinth and a rock from my favorite place, Barbados.
