Left Leon and walked on the Highway to Hospital De Orbigo, it is not a hospital, but the name of a town, after a hospital that stood here taking care of walkers and boy do we need it.

We have stopped at an out of the way Albergue called. Verde ALbergue.....Highly recommend it.

So, I should explain how all this works....especially for those that know me and know that I think the Holiday Inn is roughing it.

You bring one change of clothes, warm gear and rain gear, sleeping bag and any medicine you need, put it in a back pack and start walking...15-25 miles or more if you can handle it. Then you stop in one of these tiny towns....some the population of 20 people, some 100, and some 500. When you stop you find a place called an ABERGUE. Some are run by the city you are in, the church, and just local people. Most the time it is a large room with 50-100 bunk beds....first come first serve. Bring your ear plugs, learn to use a community washroom. You are sleeping with new bed room partners every night.

Typical routine when we arrive, one of use hits the shower, while the other one finds the washing machine, if we are lucky, and washes todays clothes and we change into the clean clothes we washed the day before. Then, the other one showers.

We then go to a group dining room around 7pm and they serve what is called Pilgrims dinner.....you don’t get a choice, typically a pasta, then some protein, then desert, then lights out. Sometimes outstanding meals and other times, not too sure what we are eating. All of this for $20-40 per person.

I’m not sure about the rest of you but that takes me out of my comfort zone ....every day....some times more than once a day.

Lesson Learned:

Get out of your comfort zone.....really out of it if you are going to change. I used to change what I would eat or how I drive to work to switch it up.

IF you are going to change get uncomfortable.....every day.

BY the way not a lot of pictures because we walked along the highway, but pictures of things that would make me feel comfortable, a taxi number, train tacks that would take me back home. Also some empty warehouse....a lot of them here in Spain the economy is really hurting.
