We left St. Jean Pied de Port tis morning for a 20 mile walk over the Pyrenees mountains.
We walked for 8 hours.... probably the most painful exercise I have done. 6 hours of walking was straight up a mountain. Interesting I trained for that part of it....it was walking down the mountain that was the most painful part. I never trained for going down hill...very painful on the ankles, knees. I thought about most businesses they train and work very hard on the up hill climb.... but rarely think about what happens if we go down hill for 6 months? Instead they panic, fire people, eliminate marketing etc. Big mistake. Create a plan for what happens if your company goes down hill....it will be less painful then.

Note from Spain in Larrasoaña
WOW today was a surprise. We got up early and decided to walk 20 miles and it seemed to be an easy walk. The first ten miles was a nice walk in the park, but the last ten miles was up the side of a mountain, a very steep mountain. To make it more challenging it rained the whole time and there were about 50 mile an hour winds. When Jim and I got to the 15 mile mark in a pretty town called Zubria, we decided to go to the next town...our egos got the best of us.....never again. Although we knocked on a door in Larsorat that said rooms and a nice husband and wife let us in, doing our laundry, cooking us dinner, and I think giving us their kids room...for 40 euros...now if my legs can walk to the table.
